Sunday 27th March 2011 - Kick off 2:15pm |
The Mikes would like to invite you to join them in celebrating former player Andi Brazier at a special Memorial Day in his honour, on Sunday 27th March 2011.
Andi passed away just over a year ago aged 48. He was a stylish midfielder who was on the books at Wolverhampton Wanderers, before enjoying a successful career here at Church Road spanning some 10 years in the 1980s and 90s.
The club remained close to Andi's heart to such an extent that, in a remarkable display of generosity, he asked that all donations at his funeral be passed on to the football club.
To express our gratitude and ensure a lasting reminder of this wonderful generosity, the club will be introducing an award in Andi's honour, to be presented at our annual awards presentation.
Andi is pictured in Action for The Mikes against Hurley Daw Mill.
Andi's family will be guests of honour on the day. Boldmere St. Michael's will be delighted to welcome Andi's wife Linda and sons Elliott and Alex. Brother-in-law Andy Perks is of course a familiar face at The Trevor Brown Memorial Ground, as our matchday raffle collector. Another familiar face will be Andi' brother, ex-Wolves star Colin Brazier, although early reports suggest he may turn out for The Mikes.
The centrepiece of the celebrations will be a fixture between a Boldmere St. Michael's Old Boys squad against Wolves Old Stars. The game will kick off at 2:15pm. Admission is £3.
All former players, friends, supporters and acquaintances are welcome.
