AFC Telford reaction
The Mikes Youth team continued their improved form, but were edged out by goals either side of half time by visiting league leaders AFC Telford.
A sucker punch just before the break came when the Mikes were on top, and a second straight after half time knocked the stuffing out of the home side.
To their credit, they kept going and fashioned a couple of half chances in the last quarter, but were unable to find a route back into the game.
Their frustration was summed up when Captain James Walker was needlessly sent off in injury time for retaliating following a heavy foul.
Watching First Team Manager Rob Mallaband was full of praise for the team: “They were well on top when the first goal came and they didn’t deserve to be behind on the balance of play. After going 2-0 down they battled hard to stay in the game – I was impressed with the way the lads kept going”.
