Alvechurch post match reaction

The Mikes returned from Lye Meadow with a point after seeing a golden opportunity to take all three go begging in injury time.

In a game of few chances, top scorer Lee Osborne came off the bench to win a last minute penalty.  As last man, keeper Dave Rimmer was sent off for the challenge and was replaced by young sub keeper Ian Kimberley, who had a spell with the Mikes’ youth team last season.  Osborne sent him the wrong way from the spot, but fired wide of the post.

The game marked first team debuts as second half substitutes for Ceiran McLean and Andre Gonzales, who have both impressed with consistent performances in the reserves

Manager Rob Mallaband was satisfied with a point and a clean sheet.  “We’d have probably taken a point before the game, particularly with the difficult conditions underfoot. We had the better of large parts of the game, but they could have won it after half time.  Adraw was a fair result overall”.
