BCFA Midweek Floodlit Challenge Cup
The Mikes Reserves lack of activity in recent weeks means that they face a flurry of cup games to keep them busy in the coming weeks.
This week saw the SIXTH postponement of the home tie against Racing Club Warwick. A Quarter-Final visit to Massey Ferguson awaits the winners of the only remaining second round tie.
The home fixture against Warwick has been rescheduled for next Wednesday 20th January at 7:30pm.
In the previous round, the Mikes triumphed 3-0 at West Midlands Premier side Bustleholme, while Racing Club also secured an equally impressive away win, overcoming fellow Midland Combination Premier Division side Coventry Copsewood 4-2.
Frustrated Joint manager Rob Clarke commented “we are desperate to get the game played. The lads need football. Like the whole of non-league, there is only so much you can do to keep them interested when there is just training with no game to look forward to. I know Warwick are just as frustrated, but we’ve just got to keep trying. The longer it goes, the more difficult it gets logistically. New players signed after the original date are not eligible, so I’m indebted to our excellent secretary Peter Hall for keeping me up to speed. He’s been fully occupied with all the pitch inspections and rescheduling. He’ll just be glad when he gets a result to phone in!”
