Boldmere St. Michaels Reserves 0 - 0 Coleshill

Boldmere Reserves with there first game since November dropped two valuable points in their quest for the Reserve League Championship due to their inability to find a finish after creating several good opportunities. In a game dominated by the visiting Mikes their poor final ball into the home penalty area coupled to unusually poor finishing from the usually lethal attack and the expected drop in tempo during the second half all contributed to a frustrating day for the team.

Coleshill posed problems on the break during the first half, one of which ended with the ball in net after twenty minutes but the linesman ruled the finisher was standing in an offside position, this was the only point the home side got close with Sean Butler not having a single save to make. But the home keeper was not much busier either due to a combination of good defending and poor selection from the Mikes attack.

Andre Calder never put a foot a foot wrong during the whole game and was well supported by Neil Hanlon starting to get back to what he is best at with Jack Brown and John Rutter again putting in a decent shift, Boldmere’s midfield dynamo’s of Buxton and Lewis was at its high calibre best during an impressive high energy first half ably supported by Anthony Juxon making his reserve team debut along with the enigmatic Roland Agbor. But the lack of cutting edge due to the recent lack of games from leading goalscorer Robinson and veteran striker Williams was the key ingredient for the Mikes failure to complete a league double over their congenial hosts and neighbours.
