Boldmere St. Michaels 0 - 7 Aston Villa XI

James Collins and Adam McGurk both scored hat-tricks as a young Villa side romped to a 7-0 friendly win over Boldmere St Michaels.

Aston Villa included the highly rated Lowry, Lichaj and Steiber in their side, who after the game flew out to the Peace Cup in Spain, a competition they played an important part in as Aston Villa lifted a trophy beating Porto and Juventus along the way.

Academy hotshot Collins fired Villa into a two-goal lead against 'The Mikes', with strikes on 15 and 22 minutes.

McGurk found the net on 25 minutes before Collins completed his hat-trick nine minutes later.

The visitors went in with a 5-0 half-time lead at Church Road as McGurk scored his second just before the break.

On 61 minutes it was his turn to complete a hat-trick before substitute Kofi Poyser rounded off the scoring.
