Boldmere St. Michaels Youth 2-1 Sutton Coldfield Town

The young mikes welcomed Sutton to Church Road for this game which didn't just offer up important league points but also local bragging rights.


Sutton made a quick start and had a shot in the first minute when Josh Orhiunu's effort was turned around the post by Tom Cox.


On 14 minutes Sutton's Dan Dineen had an effort which just cleared the Boldmere crossbar.
 A minute later Sutton had a good chance to take the lead when when a shot was saved by Tom Cox but the follow up was shot over the bar by Craig Stevens.


On 27 minutes Sutton's Dan Walton was set clear but his shot was saved by Tom Cox.


On 33 minutes Boldmere had a free kick taken by Sam Truelove which was saved by Tom Morgan in the Sutton goal.


Boldmere started the 2nd half sharply and on 47 minutes had a corner from which a header ended up on top of the net.


On 53 minutes a cross from Boldmere's Johaine Thompson found Tom Law whose shot was pushed away by Tom Morgan.


On 55 minutes Sutton's Craig Stevens had an effort which went past the mikes post.


Boldmere rang the changes on 62 minutes bringing Jerome Chambers on to replace Johaine Thompson
 Sutton broke the deadlock on 67 minutes when a long ball from Jack Smith found Josh Orhiunu who shot home past Tom Cox in the Young Mikes goal to make it one -nil.


Jordan Gibbons Came on for the Young Mikes at the restart to replace Nathan Wall.


From the restart a pass found the Young Mikes Tom Law who shot past Tom Morgan to record his first league goal since his return from Hednesford Town and to even things up.


On 78 minutes a Sutton Free kick was deflected into the path of Dan Dineen whose shot was blocked by Tom Cox.


Boldmere nearly took the lead with 5 minutes to go when a shot was headed past the Sutton post by a Sutton defender.

Just as the game was heading for a draw Boldmere got a winner in stoppage time when a shot was cleared away by Tom Morgan only for Tom Law to break the Sutton offside trap and fire home to the consternation of the visitors who felt it was offside but none the less it was three welcome league points for Mark Clarkes men.
