Boldmere St. Michaels Youth 1-5 Hednesford Town Youth
The young mikes were coming into this game off a win at home to Nuneaton Town and were keen to impress against an Hednesford Town side which had ex mike Richard Dunleavy on the pitch and former Physio Mick Talbot and former Coach and Assistant Coach Paul Casey and Ross Thorpe respectively.
Boldmere had previously travelled to Great Wyrley to play Hednesford Town and were leading one -nil when the game was abandoned due to a floodlight failure.
Hednesford had the first chance after 6 minutes when Adam Meacham shot over the mikes bar.
Boldmere took the lead on 14 minutes when James Walker hit a superb volley which hit a defender and deflected into the net.
Hednesford equalised on 31 minutes when a cross found Jack Hepple who shot into the top corner of the Boldmere net.
Boldmere were continuing to hold their own but Hednesford were coming on strong and took the lead on 66 minutes when a shot was saved by Tom Cox only for Daniel Scragg to fire home the rebound.
Three minutes later it was 3-1 when a long ball found a Hednesford player who shot into the net.
On 78 minutes Hednesford made it 4-1 when mikes keeper Tom Cox made a fine save only for Hednesford to hit home the rebound.
The ’Young Pitmen’ wrapped up the scoring and made it 5-1 on 89 minutes when a long ball found a Hednesford player to fire past Tom Cox and secure three points for the ‘Young Pitmen’
