Boldmere St. Michaels 2-1 Dosthill Colts
Boldmere Youth Team won a keenly contested home game against Dosthill Colts by a 2-1 scoreline, in the Midland Floodlit Youth League (Premier Division North).
The Mikes were behind after two minutes but battled back to equalise through Tom Law midway through the half. In a bizarre incident surrounding the goal, Dosthill were reduced to ten players after a visiting defender on the line was seemingly adjudged to have handled, but the referee still awarded a goal after the ball entered the net.
The MIkes won the game in the second half, when James Walker danced through the visitors defence, drew the keeper, then calmly squared for Tom Law to tap into the empty net. The Mikes were denied further opportunities by a succession of frustrating offsides, while any alarms at the other end were largely of their own making.
