Boldmere St. Michaels Youth 2-5 Alvechurch Youth
The young mikes were hoping to make it three wins in a row on the back of wins at league leaders AFC Telford United and local rivals Sutton Coldfield Town and must have been confident against an Alvechurch side who had been beaten at Lye Meadow earlier in the season.
The young mikes had an effort saved on 6 minutes when Nathan Wall’s shot was saved by the Alvechurch keeper.
On 12 minutes a Boldmere free kick was headed by Tom Law but was saved by the Alvechurch keeper.
Alvechurch nearly took the lead after 16 minutes when they had a corner cleared off the young mikes goal line.
Boldmere took the lead on 22 minutes when a Johaine Thompson cross was punched out by the keeper but was fired home by Jordan Gibbons.
The lead lasted for three minutes when Alvechurch took advantage of a mix up between the young mikes keeper and a defender to tap the ball in the young mikes net.
On 35 minutes Alvechurch were reduced to ten men when a player was given a straight red card for swearing at the match official.
A minute later Alvechurch took the lead when a player scored from a flick on past Tom Cox in the young mikes goal.
The second half started with Alvechurch making light of their man disadvantage and made it 3-1 on 47 minutes when a long ball found a player who fired past Tom Cox.
Nine minutes later it was 4-1 when the Alvechurch No. 11 beat three defenders and shot in the bottom corner of the net.
Boldmere pulled a goal back on 63 minutes when a melee occurred in the Alvechurch six yard box and Tom Law scrambled the ball over the line.
Alvechurch got their fifth and final goal of the night on 71 minutes when a forward beat a defender and shot into the net to make it 5-2 and give Alvechurch three points.
