Banbury United Preview
Match Preview: Saturday 6th March 2010 – 3:00pm
Banbury United Reserves v Boldmere St Michael’s Reserves
Midland Football Combination Reserve League
The Mikes Reserves will be hoping to build on Wednesday’s late late show against Bromsgrove as they make the trip to Oxfordshire to face Banbury United.
The Mikes will ring the changes, with Adam Swain, Simeon Tulloch and Tom Law all returning to the first team squad after their midweek run out.
Joint manager Rob Clarke commented “That’s part and parcel of reserve team football. We run as one club, so the first team bench play for the reserves in midweek. The flip side is that the players know there is a route into the first team if they perform well. I wouldn’t be here if that wasn’t the case.
We have a glut of games this month, so the full squad will be used. The players who dropped out to make way on wednesday didn’t necessarily deserve it on form, so they will come back in with a point to prove. We’ve got good strength in depth, so we’ll certainly be competitive. We’ve only played three away league games so far, so we’ve got to get our away form on track. It’s our longest trip, but the kind that is standard at first team level. It’s all part of the learning curve for our young side”
