New date for Barwell game
Congratulations go to our MFA rivals Barwell, who safely negotiated their FA Vase Quarter Final tie with Norton & Stockton Ancients.
The Canaries progressed 3-0 at Kirkby Road on Saturday, with all the goals coming in the second half. They opened the scoring thanks to former Mikes striker Kev Charley, who converted a penalty after 48 minutes. Two late goals from Adam Cunnington sealed their passage.
Standing between Barwell and a trip to Wembley are holders Whitley Bay, who knocked the Mikes out of this year’s competition in December. The first leg will take place in Leicester on 27th March, with the return tie on Tyneside a week later.
As a result, the Mikes scheduled visit to Kirkby Road has been rearranged. The Aspire MFA fixture will now take place one month later on Tuesday 27th April, with a 7:45pm kick off.
