Barwell reflection

The Mikes Reserves maintained their 100% record in this season’s Challenge Bowl with a 3-2 victory over Barwell.

The Mikes twice came from behind before going on to register their fourth win, which should secure their passage from the group stage of the competition.  Johaine Thompson continued his fine goalscoring form, notching his first hat trick for the club.

Joint Manager Rob Clarke commented: “In the first half we were not at the races and Barwell could have put the game beyond us - I was happy to go in 1-0 down at the break so we could regroup.  We were like a different team in the second half.  We dominated possession and certainly didn’t deserve to lose the game, but they will feel hard done overall by getting nothing from it.  We had some fortune with the first equaliser, but we showed great character once again after they went back in front straight afterwards.  That was the major positive from the day, along with Johaine's hat trick”.

The Mikes Reserves return to League action next Saturday 26th September, when they entertain Highgate United (3:00pm).
