Barwell take the points

The Mikes unbeaten home record was ended by in-form Barwell, who registered a convincing 3-1 victory.

The league leaders raced into a two-goal lead in the first ten minutes, and the Mikes never really looked like getting back on terms despite Lee Osborne’s goal.

The game was held up by a serious head injury to a visiting player, who went to hospital after receiving a nasty cut. Our best wishes go to him for a speedy recovery.

The Mikes have no midweek fixture, so are next in action on Saturday 26 September, when they visit another Leicestershire side, Friar Lane & Epworth (3.00pm).
