Boldmere St. Michaels 3-2 Kirby Muxloe

Boldmere were looking to bounce back from their midweek home defeat against Causeway against a Kirby Muxloe side who they drew against in Leicestershire earlier this season.

Kirby Muxloe took the lead in the second minute when a cross from Pietrzyc found Jamie Mason who headed past Sean Butler into the Boldmere net.

Boldmere needed to come back strongly and they did that on 5 minutes when a cross over from the wing found Lyndon Weller who fired from inside the penalty area to make it one apiece.

Kirby Muxloe regained the lead on 8 minutes when a long ball found Jamie Mason who shot under the advancing Sean Butler to gain both his and Kirby Muxloe's second goal.

Boldmere were pressing for an equaliser and on 17 minutes Ricky Baker shot over the bar from close range. 6 minutes later a cross found Lee Osbourne inside the Penalty area who fell with only an empty goal to aim at.

Boldmere got their chance for an equaliser on the half hour mark when Ricky Baker was bought down inside the penalty area. Kirk Smith stepped up and put the ball past the keeper to make it two apiece.

Boldmere were coming on strong at this point and two minutes later took the lead when a Lyndon Weller pinpoint cross was headed in by Jason Holmes.

Boldmere could have added a fourth before half time when a Ricky Baker solo run ended in his shot being pushed out for a corner by the keeper.

Boldmere's first opportunity of the 2nd half came on 63 minutes when a corner was tipped away one-handed by the Kirby Muxloe keeper.

On 66 minutes Kirby Muxloe had a golden opportunity to equalise when a shot from Craig Pietzyc hit the top of the Boldmere cross bar.

On 76 minutes Boldmere were awarded their 2nd spot kick of the afternoon when Boldmere sub Simeon Tulloch was brought down inside the penalty area.

Kirk Smith stepped up to take the kick only to sky his effort over the bar and on to the Main Road.

Johaine Thompson and Adam Swain came on in the last 15 minutes for Boldmere as they hung on for a deserved win and their first points of 2010.
