Boldmere St. Michaels 1 - 2 Coventry Sphinx
Boldmere took the lead after 9 minutes. Kirk Smith's testing free kick into the area was contested by Nathan Gough and Sphinx goalkeeper Carl O'Neill, the ball was not won by either and flew into the bottom left corner.
Soon after Callum Woodward had a chance to level the game, in on goal after Robert Stevenson's long throw, Woodward, 8 yards out sent his shot wide.
Boldmere went in at half time in the lead and came out in the second period looking to add a second. After a good spell, creating chances, it was Coventry Sphinx on a rare attack who scored on 58 minutes. A quickly taken long throw by Stevenson into the path of Jerome Murdock, he cleared the home defence before slotting past Adam Lane.
Boldmere went on the attack again but were very lucky to survive on 77 minutes. Stevenson's cross free kick was won by the head of Terry Ward at the far post. His effort was about to cross the line but Sphinx sub Warri, steaming in headed the ball into the net to claim the goal for himself. The linesman flagged for off-side which saved Boldmere as the effort was certain to score before the intervention.
It looked as if the away side would regret that moment but sub Luke Hopkins ensured they still took the three points back to Coventry. With four minutes remaining his 30 yard shot sailed into the top right corner leaving the keeper with no chance.
