Boldmere St. Michaels 3-1 Coleshill

The local Boxing Day derby presented Boldmere with their biggest gate of the season and infront of the large crowd the two teams did not fail to entertain.  The away side opened the chances with Stuart Hendrie's wide effort from the 18 yard line.  Boldmere on 7 minutes applied their first period of pressure and were rewarded by opening the scoring.  Stuart McNaught collected the ball in central midfield and sent the play wide left to Lee Osborne;  his low cross to the back post found the incoming Stuart McNaught, who had continued his run and guided the ball into the net.

Coleshill did not let their heads drop after conceeding the early deficit and continued on the attack and responded by enjoying a great twenty minutes of attacking football.  A foul by Hamilton on the edge of the Boldmere's area gave a free kick chance to Matty Robinson which was well defened by the home wall.  The rebound fell to Hendrie whose ball back into the area was won by the thunderouds header of Ant Hall which then shattered the cross bar. A few minutes later a another free kick, this time taken by Matty Robinson was well saved by Adam Jenkins.

With 17 minutes gone Danny Carter's pass into the area was well received by Robinso, he  play returned to Carter setting up a powerful low drive into the corner of the goal, beating Jenkins to level up the scoring.   Coleshill continued to enjoy the better of the play but Boldmere regained the lead, against the run of possession.  On 27 minutes Swain found Weller in space on the right wing and his pin-point cross found Osborne at the back post to score. The score remained 2-1 to 'The Mikes' at half time'.

In the second half Coleshill thought they had scored their second only to find Robinson had been ruled offside following Dance's deep cross. A minute later and they found themselves 3-1 down when Adam Wood found  Kirk Smith whose measured pass through the Coleshill defence was collected by Osborne, he remained strong and under presure from Hall cooly slotted the ball under the advancing Chris Butler.

The game remained competitive until the final whistle with Coleshill refusing to lie down.  Boldmere extended their lead over third placed Barwell to five points in the Aspire Midland Football Alliance
