Boldmere St. Michaels 5-0 Biddulph Victoria
Boldmere extended their unbeaten run to five games as the club continued the 125th anniversary celebrations from the night before. Biddulph Victoria found the fluent ‘Mikes’ to hot to handle straight from the off. A 1st minute wind assisted free kick by Adam Swain fell into a crowded area, bouncing over the Biddulph Victoria keeper Philip McGing, and into the path of the waiting Mark Mason who at the far post slotted the ball home.
30 minutes later Boldmere, and Mark Mason got their second of the afternoon, Hamilton’s long ball through the Biddulph defence found Mason who calmly rounded the advancing McGing to stroke the ball into the goal. With a minute to go before half-time a fine freekick by Kirk Smith was won in the area by Jason Holmes whose headed effort looped over the Biddulph keeper for the home sides third of the afternoon.
Playing confident stuff as the scoreline would suggest Boldmere sent Lee Osborne and Anthony Juxton on from the substitute’s bench with the latter adding a sensational 4th, his 20 yard strike hit the far bar but bounced behind the line. Rob Mallaband then sent on Robinson with eight minutes to go and Boldmere’s substitute scored a fifth with time running out after another thunderous shot by the edge of the area, this time Juxton turned provider tee-ing up Robinson whose shot thundered into the roof of the goal to round off a terrific weekend for the celebrating Boldmere St. Michaels.
Boldmere are next in home action on Saturday 8th November where they entertain Stratford Town who have recently added ex-Birmingham City, Sheffield United, Watford and Walsall striker Paul Devlin to their ranks. Kick off 3pm, Church Road, Boldmere, B73 5RY.
