Boldmere St. Michaels 3 - 1 Malvern Town

On 30 minutes Simeon Tulloch had the best opening yet for Boldmere as his shot was fumbled by Malvern keeper and put out for a corner.

Boldmere’s pressure finally told after 42 minutes when Ricky Baker’s cross over was met by a diving header into the bottom of the net by Nathan Gough to give the mikes a deserved interval lead.

Malvern came out for the second half needing to get back into the game and they got their equalizer on 58 minutes when a defender lost the ball on the edge of the penalty area and a Malvern player pounced on the ball to fire home and level the game. On 61 minutes Nathan Gough could have doubled his tally but his volley just went past the post.

Malvern created a couple of chances on 66 and 68 minutes respectively when Mansfield volleyed over the bar from a throw in and then Crosskey’s shot just curled round the post.

The mikes finally regained the lead on 73 minutes when a long ball found Lee Osborne who shot under Malvern keeper Hands into the net.

With a minute left the mikes made sure of all three points when a Simeon Tulloch shot from inside the Malvern 6 yard box was palmed out by the Malvern keeper only for Jerrod McGivern to fire the rebound in the roof of the net to get his first goal for the club and secure all three points for the mikes ahead of the big game on Saturday and the visit of the league leaders Barwell.
