The Mikes Reserves travel to The Scholars on Monday for the eagerly awaited second leg of the Challenge Trophy semi final. The tie is perfectly poised after a cagey first leg finished goalless at the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground.
That was the fourth meeting between the teams this season. The Mikes won through in the two-legged semi final of the Challenge Bowl, while the Scholars inflicted the Mikes’ only home league defeat of the season.
The winners will visit Barwell in the final, on Thursday 6th May. The Canaries won 3-0 at Quorn on Saturday, after a goalless first leg at Kirkby Road.
Joint Manager Rob Clarke expects another close encounter “We are currently the top two in the league and there is little between the teams. All the games have been close, so this one could go all the way. We’ll be sick of the sight of each other as we go there in the league next week as well!
