Coalville Town Preview
The Mikes entertain another of the Aspire MFA’s representatives in the last 64 of the FA Carlsberg Vase on Saturday, when Coalville Town are the visitors to the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground.
The Mikes will look to build on last Saturday’s solid win at Blaby & Whetstone, while the second placed Ravens are fresh from their 4-2 extra time victory over local rivals Oadby Town.
The Mikes have completed the signing of former player Richard Langford from Cradley Town and he is added to last week’s squad.
In keeping with most games between the sides, both last year’s encounters were highly entertaining. The first was a goalless draw at Queen Street that was anything but boring, while the return in the penultimate week of the season was memorable for an unbelievable comeback. The Mikes came from 2-1 down to record a 3-2 home win with two goals in injury time. Despite the setback, the Ravens managed to pip the Mikes to third spot in the table by winning their final two games.
