Coventry Sphinx 5 - 2 Boldmere St. Michaels
Boldmere's previously unbeaten defence was breeched after just 66 seconds when visiting Coventry Sphinx on Tuesday evening.
Kyle Rhodes fired the home side in front with a twenty five yard strike leaving Jenkins rooted to the spot. Just five minutes later good work by Osbourne down the left flank led to Tulloch forcing the ball home from close range but the joy was short lived as Phillips took advantage of hesitancy in the Mikes defence to head home after nine minutes. Despite having a fair share of the play and a penalty appeal for a foul on Osbourne turned down it was the visitors who turned the goal power.
Jerome Murdoch was proving a handful and his efforts led to further goals by Woodward and Phillips to give his side a 4-1 lead at the break.
Manager Rob Mallaband withdrew Jack Brown at the interval and replaced him with Jared McGivern. Two minutes into the second period Stuart McNaught reduced the arrears from the penalty spot and just seconds later Tulloch rushed his shot when more composure would have put the Mikes right back in the game.
Despite having the greater percentage of the play in the second half the goalkeeper was not seriously tested. Wood came closest to scoring hitting the post but it was the home side who had the last say when Rhodes made it 5 in the 81st minute.
