FA Vase 2nd Round Draw
The Mikes have been handed an away tie in the Second Round Proper of the FA Carlsberg Vase. They will visit the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division's sole remaining representative, Blaby & Whetstone Athletic.
The Leicestershire side, who currently sit in the top six of their division, earned their place in tie 17 of the draw by beating our Aspire MFA rivals Malvern Town 3-1 on Saturday.
The 2nd round tie is scheduled to take place on Saturday 14th November 2009, with the winners collecting a £1200 windfall from the FA Vase prize fund.
Like ourselves, MFA rivals Stratford Town will be on the road as they travel to Wellington. The are two all MFA ties: Coalville Town entertain Leicestershire rivals Oadby Town, while Tipton Town have been drawn away at Friar Lane & Epworth. Also in Leicestershire, MFA leaders Barwell will have a swift chance for revenge, having again been drawn at home to their FA Cup conquerors Long Eaton United.
The winners of the Loughborough University/Causeway United replay will host Newcastle Town. Biddulph Victoria and Westfields have also been handed home ties, hosting Gedling Town and Rainworth Minors Welfare respectively.
One team are guaranteed to go to Wembley in the competition. Hoddesdon Town have been drawn away at Wembley FC of the Combined Counties League Premier Division!
