Good luck to Barwell
The Mikes would like to extend their best wishes to our Aspire MFA rivals Barwell in their FA Carlsberg Vase Quarter-Final tie. The Canaries will be looking to make home advantage count as they take on Norton & Stockton Ancients at Kirkby Road, after the tie was postponed last week.
Two former Mikes will be hoping to continue their good form in the competition, with Kev Charley and Liam MacDonald both amongst the goals in the Leicestershire side’s run to the last eight.
Should Barwell progress, they will face the Mikes’ conquerors Whitley Bay over two legs in a potentially mouth-watering semi-final. They would play at home on Saturday 23rd March, with the return on Tyneside seven days later.
With the Mikes due to visit the league leaders on Saturday 23rd March for our Aspire MFA game, the outcome of Saturday’s game could have an impact on our fixture calendar.
