Gresley Rovers preview
The Mikes Reserves visit Gresley in the Midland Combination Reserve Division on Saturday, hoping that the loss of last week’s fixture to the weather does not disrupt their recent form.
The Mikes have smashed 18 goals without reply in their last two outings, but know that Saturday’s trip will be anything but easy.
Joint Manager Rob Clarke looked ahead to the game: “Gresley are going well, and we have lost both our league games on the road so far. We will certainly have a point to prove as we try to put that right. We’re 100% away from home in the cups, including the Challenge Bowl, so there are no confidence issues. There are a flurry of games over the next few weeks with a couple of midweek fixtures, so keeping our good form is vital. After two 9-0 wins, the lads know they wont be allowed to get complacent. They have worked exceptionally hard in training. There is fierce competition for places, which is a pleasant headache for me and Mick Hawkins to have”
