Mikes Reserves vs Highgate Reserves Review

Midland Combination Reserve Division: Boldmere St Michael’s 4 – 0 Highgate United

The Mikes Reserves maintained their 100% home record in all competitions with a comfortable league victory over Highgate United.

The 4-0 win moved them into second place in the table, level on points with leaders Heather St John with a game in hand.

After going within a whisker of opening his account in each of the last two games, Richard Dunleavy scored two goals with headers from set pieces. New signing from Wednesfield Adam Morton netted on his debut, and Kallum Blake also marked his first start with a goal.

Joint Manager Mick Hawkins commented: “Once we scored our fourth early in the second half we stepped off the gas a little. We probably missed a chance to really press home our advantage and score a few more goals, but overall it was a job well done”.

The Mikes Reserves are at home again next Saturday 3rd October, when they complete the group phase of the Challenge Bowl against Walsall Wood (3:00pm).
