Kirby Muxloe 2-2 Boldmere St.Michaels
Boldmere made their first ever visit to Ratby Lane to take on newly promoted Kirby Muxloe last Saturday. The home side who had drawn four of their opening six fixtures were looking for their first home whilst the Mikes were anxious to put their mauling at Coventry Sphinx behind them. Kirk Smith returned to the side after suspension in place of Neil Watkins whist Sean Butler replaced swine flu victim Adam Jenkins in goal. The Mikes opened brightly on a good surface and in the ninth minute Ricky Baker blasted them in front from the edge of the box. The joy was short lived as just five minutes later Adam Wood in attempting to chest a through ball back to debutant Butler but failed miserably allowing the alert Verrall to go on and equalise.
The tackles were flying in from all angles and the referee was struggling to keep on top of the game. Stuart McNaught hit the post with a header and Ricky Baker was carried to be replaced by Jared McGivern before a spectacular scissor kick by Mee put the homesters ahead on thirty nine minutes. Mikes pushed the hosts back in the second half and deservedly drew level with another goal by the prolific McNaught. Tempers were rising during the second period but boiled over when right back Pitsillider made a wild tackle on Simeon Tulloch leading to a free for all involving most of the players. The end result was a sending of for Pitsillider but others should have at least been booked. Jamel Fuller replaced Jack Brown and Tom Law replaced Lee Osbourne as Mikes pushed for victory against ten man Muxloe. Indeed Law came closest to scoring after a goalmouth scrimmage but it was not to be and Mikes had to settle for a point in their quest for honours'
