Managenment on 5-4 Quorn win
The Mikes secured their first league win in a hugely entertaining game at Church Road, ending visitors Quorn’s 100% record in the process. In a topsy-turvy contest in which they twice held the lead, the Mikes eventually had to come from behind to register an excellent three points.
Joint Mananger Mick Hawkins commented: "In many ways it was like the game last year when Quorn beat us 6-4, but overall it's a good three points".
Rob Clarke added: “Quorn were the best team we have faced so far. Both teams played some very good stuff, but at times there was some lack of cohesion about our play. We again made a lot of changes and many of the team hadn't played together before, so that was certainly a factor that cannot be underestimated. After throwing away our lead in the first two minutes of the second half, I was delighted with the character we showed to get back in the game and secure the points. There is still plenty to work on, but there were also many positives”
The Mikes Reserves are also at home next Saturday 12th September against Heather St John (3:00pm).
