Mark Clarke looks ahead to new season
the Youth team for 2009-10 is slowly taking shape and the final pre season session is tonight 30/07/09 which will than lead us into our friendly games kicking off next week.
The friendly fixtures are Hinckley United away Monday 3rd August, we than play the reserves at Church Road on Wednesday 5th August KO 7.30, on the Sunday we travel to Stratford Town for our 3rd game KO 3.00pm and we finally finish the games on Wednesday 12th August against Walsall FC.
Pre season as gone very well and we have got some good young players coming into the club to add to the 9 players remaining from last season, we have recruited 2 top goalkeepers for this year and between them they will be supporting the reserves and youth this year.
The older players are looking really good in training and the new recruits are showing great desire to try and break into the team which is giving me plenty of food for thought, but I have released a few players and this is the part of the job which is not nice but unfortunately you can only have a number in the squad and them decisions have to be made.
The season kicks off on 17th August and we are playing Bedworth United at home in the first game of the new campaign, I am looking forward to getting the fantastic support again this season on match days and give the youth lads plenty of encouragement to develop and progress their football ability
