Mikes edge past Friar Lane
The Mikes put their poor recent away form behind them, returning from Friar Lane & Epworth with a hard earned but well deserved three points.
The Mikes had to bounce back from a nightmare start where they found themselves behind in the second minute. A swift reply was required, and skipper Tom Stevenson obliged after Ricky Baker’s pinpoint free kick has caused panic in the home defence.
From then on, the Mikes were the better team, but it took until the 76th minute to secure the points. This time it was Adam Swain who provided the pinpoint delivery for Sim Tulloch to rise highest at the far post
First Team Coach Stuart Grosvenor was delighted with the win: “On an extremely difficult pitch we got the job done. Our response to going behind was excellent and we deserved the win”.
The Mikes are back in action on Tuesday night, when they welcome Cradley Town to the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground for an Aspire MFA Fixture (7:30pm).
