Mikes lose out in thriller
The Mikes lost out in a five goal thriller as visitors Coalville stole victory from the jaws of defeat in an entertaining contest at a wet and windy Trevor Brown Memorial Ground.
It was a game the Mikes didn't deserve to lose, as goals from Ricky Baker and Lee Osborne looked like they would be enough to see off the second-placed Ravens. However, two late goals turned the game around, in an exact reversal of last season's fixture when the Mikes scored twice in injury time to steal the points by the same scoreline.
Goalkeeping Coach Rob Clarke commented "I suppose it was a case of 'what goes around comes around'. They will feel it rights a wrong from last season, which you can understand as it was a carbon copy game. Whilst learning from the way the game went at the end, we have to look at the positives, of which there were many".
The Mikes are without a midweek fixture, so will next be in action on Saturday 28th November, when they make the short trip to Coleshill Town (3:00pm).
