Match Preview: Reserves welcome Banbury
The Mikes Reserves v Banbury United Reserves
Midland Football Combination Reserve Division
The Mikes Reserves welcome Banbury United to the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground this Saturday 10th April, for the Mikes Reserves’ final home league game (3:00pm).
The teams have met twice this season, with the Mikes prevailing on both occasions. The Puritans visited a sun drenched Church Road back in August, for a Challenge Bowl group game which a strong Mikes side won 4-0. The league fixture at the Spencer Stadium took place little over a month ago and was an altogether closer affair, with the Mikes battling to a hard earned 2-1 victory.
Joint manager Rob Clarke is taking nothing for granted. “The game in August means nothing now. The first team didn’t have a fixture that day, so we had a very strong line up, giving a run out to some players who had been on their bench. Last time it was a very close game which could have gone either way. We had to work exceptionally hard, and will need to do so again to have any chance of the right result.”
