Nuneaton 2-0 Boldmere St. Michaels Yth
The young mikes travelled to Nuneaton hoping to put the disappointment of their County Cup Semi Final exit against Castle Vale JKS behind them. Boldmere got off to a bright start and after 5 minutes had a shot cleared off the line by a Nuneaton defender.
Three minutes later Boldmere had a let off when Johaine Thompson passed to a Nuneaton player who shot just past the Boldmere goal. On 12 minutes the Nuneaton no9 had a shot saved by Young Mikes keeper Tom Cox. On 28 minutes Boldmere went close when a Johaine Thompson chip over the Nuneaton keeper went just past the post.
On 32 minutes Nuneaton had a chance when their no 10 was clear in the six yard box but hit the ball against his own player and it was cleared away. The 2nd half started where the first left off with the young mikes forcing the game and Nathan Wall shot inches past the Nuneaton goal on 47 minutes.
On 55 minutes the mikes thought they had taken the lead when they got the ball into the net but the goal was disallowed for an apparent push. This was the culmination of several strange decisions which resulted in Boldmere Manager Mark Clarke being sent to the stands by the assistant referee. On 61 minutes the Nuneaton no11 headed a corner just past the post.
On 72 Minutes Boldmere had an opportunity when Thomas Law had a shot blocked in the Nuneaton 6 yard box. A minute later it was Nuneaton who took the lead when a player broke free and shot past Tom Cox in the mikes goal to make it 1-0
With 10 minutes to go Nuneaton doubled their lead when a shot was deflected out by mikes keeper Tom Cox only for the Nuneaton no4 to fire home the rebound and earn all three points.
