Post Match Reaction: Mikes romp past the Gate
The Mikes found their shooting boots at last, recording a comfortable victory at Tythe Barn Lane.
The Coppice has been a happy hunting ground in recent times, with the Mikes also winning there in league and cup last season.
The Mikes started brightly and hit the woodwork before Jason Holmes opened the scoring with his second strike in successive games. Lyndon Weller increased the advantage on the hour mark, before leading scorer Lee Osborne came off the bench to bag a brace to round off the scoring.
Manager Rob Mallaband was pleased with the performance. “It has been a long week after last week’s woeful display, but this has got it out of the system. Everybody contributed, it was a good response from the team.”
The Mikes are on their travels again next Saturday 20th February, visiting Studley for an Aspire MFA fixture (3:00pm).
