Rob was a tough tackling full back who originally joined the club in August 1984. His playing career also took in Walsall Wood, Bilston Town, Redditch United, Sutton Coldfield Town and Chasetown.
After returning to the club as his playing career drew to a close, Rob moved into the management structure via the reserves, working with Colin Burton. He then took the first team manager's role over from Alan Parsons in 2005-06, before resigning due to business commitments after 18 months.
He returned to management at Walsall Wood as a favour to an old friend, before taking up the chance to return 'home' in June 2008, this being his third season at the helm.
