Match Preview: The Mikes Reserves v Chasetown
The Mikes Reserves are again in home action in the Midland Combination Reserve Division, when they welcome reigning league champions Chasetown to the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground on Saturday.
Chasetown have played only three league games to date, registering one win, one defeat and a draw, which came last week at Highgate United courtesy of a 1-1 scoreline. The Mikes currently sit in second place in the league following last week’s 3-0 victory against Barwell, with four defeats and a defeat from 5 games.
The Mikes welcome back Jack Brown after injury, while Ceiran McLean and Lewis Fenney return to the squad after travelling with the first team last week.
Joint manager Rob Clarke looked ahead to the game: “We had some excellent contests against Chasetown last year. Like ourselves they have started again and are rebuilding, so the sides are likely to look very different from last year. I expect a very tough game nonetheless”.
