Reserves Cup Draws
The Mikes Reserves have discovered their opponents in three cup competitions.
The defence of the Smedley Crooke Cup will begin with a home tie against Droitwich Spa FC, who ply their trade in Midland Combination Division 1. The sides met in pre-season, drawing 4-4 in an entertaining game played at Droitwich’s King George V Ground. The date for the tie is yet to be announced.
In the Birmingham County FA Midweek Floodlight Cup, the Mikes Reserves will visit Bustleholme FC, who currently lie sixth in the West Midlands League Premier Division. They share the Tipton Sports Academy Ground with Tipton Town FC. Again, the date for the tie is yet to be announced, but is due to be completed before 28th October.
The Midland Combination Challenge Trophy is the league cup for the Reserve Division. Looking to retain the trophy they have won in each of the last two seasons, the Mikes entertain Gresley Rovers on Saturday 28 November (3.00 p.m.). The winners of that tie will be at home to Oadby Town in the Quarter Finals.
The Mikes have also progressed as winners of Group A in the Reserve Division Challenge Bowl. Their reward will be a place in the two-legged semi-finals, as they look to go one better than last year, where they lost out in the final in extra time to Chasetown. The draw has yet to be made.
