Rob Clarke's Post Banbury Reaction
The Mikes all but assured their passage from the group stage of the Midland Combination Reserve League Challenge Bowl, with a 4-0 home victory over Banbury United. The result maintained their 100% record in the competition, registering a third straight victory.
Joint Manager Rob Clarke was understandably pleased: “It turned out to be a comfortable victory, but we should have been more clinical in the first half to kill them off sooner. We had a much-changed side, a few of whom hadn’t played together, so it took us a while to find our feet. Our passing could have been better during the first half, but we were much better after the break.
The new signings settled in well, and several first team squad players had a good run out after sitting on the bench for a few games. Everybody contributed, which is pleasing. All in all, it was a good day at the office!”
The Mikes Reserves are also at home next Saturday 5th September against Quorn (3:00pm).
