The Mikes journeyed to Studley hoping to start a lucrative FA Vase campaign against their fellow Midland Football Alliance rivils.

Boldmere’s first opportunity came inside the first minute when a Nathan Gough cross was held at the second attempt by keeper Matt Harris.

Boldmere took the lead on 7 minutes when a Simeon Tulloch went across the penalty box but Nathan Gough managed to bundle the ball into the net from a short distance.

Boldmere nearly doubled the lead on half time when Lee Osbourne’s effort was saved at the second attempt by Matt Harris.

Studley needed to come out sharply after the interval and on 47 minutes they had an opportunity when Kevin Jones was put clear only for his effort to be denied by the legs of Adam Jenkins. On 52 minutes a Long ball from Studley keeper Matt Harris found Jamie Bailey who lobbed Adam Jenkins but the ball went past the post.

Studley came calling again on 57 minutes when Jamie Bailey was put clear but was again denied by the legs of Boldmere keeper Adam Jenkins.

On 73 minutes a ball from Boldmere’s Nathan Gough found Lee Osbourne who chipped wide of an on coming Studley keeper. On 80 minutes a chip from Boldmere’s Ricky Baker found Nathan Gough who from inside the penalty area shot over the bar.

Studley had a final opportunity in stoppage time when they were awarded a corner but it was punched away by Boldmere’s Adam Jenkins and so it was Boldmere who held on to secure the win and a place in the hat for the 2nd round draw on Monday.
