Studley Vase reaction
The Mikes can look forward to Monday’s FA Carlsberg Vase draw, as they made it three wins in a week to progress to the second round proper.
Nathan Gough’s early strike settled a tricky away tie at Aspire MFA rivals Studley. Both sides had their chances in a tight affair, but the Bees were unable to break down a resolute Mikes defence.
Manager Rob Mallaband was pleased to progress. “It’s important for the club that we progressed in the Vase. It was never going to be a classic with the high winds and bumpy pitch, but a win and a clean sheet on the road is always welcome.”
The Mikes have no midweek fixture, so are next in action on Saturday when they entertain Alvechurch in the Aspire MFA (10th October – 3.00pm).
