The Mikes clinch top six finish

The Mikes round off their 2009/10 league campaign with a comfortable home victory against Coleshill Town.
This meant the Mikes won their last five home games of the season, propelling them to a top six finish in the Aspire MFA table.
Goals from Tom Law and Matt Hawker within the first 20 minutes put the Mikes firmly in control of the game. A late Ben Porter goal reduced the arrears for the Colemen, but the Mikes held firm to claim the points.
Rob Mallaband reflected “I’m delighted with a top six finish, particularly considering where we were at the turn of the year. That was our aim at the start of the season, although our form in the cups could have been better. The lads have been on a great run of late and we have played some good football”
Mallaband added “we haven’t scored as many goals as last year, but our clean sheet total has increased to 14, meaning one every three games. We lost only three of our last 18 games, which gives us something to build on looking towards next season”.
