Match Preview: The Mikes Reserves v Walsall Wood Reserves – Saturday 3rd October 3:00pm.
The Mikes Reserves are at home again on Saturday, as Walsall Wood make the short trip down the Chester Road for our final game in the group stage of the Challenge Bowl.
The Mikes secured their passage to the two-legged semi-final a fortnight ago at Barwell, but will be desperate to maintain their 100% record in the competition.
Joint manager Rob Clarke looked forward to the game: “We’ve managed to get through with a game to spare, but that doesn’t mean we’ll take this game lightly. We do need to have an eye on the semi-final stages, as players must have played in the group stages to be eligible later in the competition. That could be next March for all we know, so that will influence our selection to an extent as we look to cover all the bases, but we’ll be sending out a strong unit”.
