Walsall Wood Preview

Following Wednesday’s superb cup win at Bustleholme, The Mikes Reserves hit the road again, making the somewhat shorter trip down the Chester Road to face Walsall Wood in a Midland Combination Reserve Division clash.

The hosts will be looking for swift revenge, following their recent 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Mikes in the group stage of the Challenge Bowl. The Mikes will be looking to get their league campaign back on track following last week’s frustrating home reverse against Chasetown.

Joint manager Rob Clarke looked ahead to the visit to his old stomping ground: “Last week was frustrating in the extreme, but I was happy with the performance level. The reaction on Wednesday was terrific, but that is history now. We will ensure that there is no complacency and we will approach Saturday’s game with the right attitude. We must do that if we want to take anything from the game”.

Boldmere could be coming up against former youth team player Daniel Green tomorrow, who since his move to Walsall Wood has been involved with the Reserve side.
