Reserves register first home draw

The Mikes Reserves returned to league action with Gresley our visitors. The match was keenly contested and even throughout. The Mikes we went behind with 12 minutes to go, in a period when they had started to get on top and look like scoring. However, they dug deep and carved out a lovely equaliser, with Will Hutt crossing for Adam Morton to guide home a text book header. There was no further scoring, meaning the first home draw of the season.
Rob Clarke reflected “A draw was fair overall. Both sides had chances and both had a decent penalty shout. It wasn’t our best performance by any stretch. Wednesday’s game had clearly taken a lot out of the lads, and the character they showed to get back on level terms was the main positive. Take nothing away from Gresley, they are a decent side and deserved a point”.
