Mikes and Scholars deadlocked in second semi final

The Mikes Reserves 0-0 Chasetown Reserves
Midland Combination Challenge Trophy Semi Final First Leg
The Mikes and Chasetown go into their Challenge Trophy second leg on level terms, after a cagey goalless draw at the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground left the tie perfectly poised.
Meeting for the second time in a week, the game was again played at a frenetic pace throughout. Both sides struggled to get to grips with a testing surface thanks to the recent rainfall, struggling to maintain possession as defences were on top and chances at a premium.
Joint Manager Rob Clarke was satisfied “it was a strange game after the previous week. Playing so many times in such a short space of time means that you see the opposition's strengths and plan accordingly. It was largely two teams cancelling each other out, where last week’s was an open entertaining game. We’ll do it again in a fortnight, so this time it’s straight knock out.”
The second leg takes place at The Scholars ground on Wednesday 7th April 2010, kick of 7:45pm.
The Mikes are at home on Saturday, when they entertain Walsall Wood in the Midland Combination Reserve Division (3:00pm)
