Jamie Fisher departs for Shifnal Town
Defender Jamie Fisher (PROFILE) has left the Mikes to join former reserve team manager John Wilson at MFA rivals Shifnal Town.
Fisher, who featured as an unused substitute for the first team on several occasions and has played once for the reserves, has left in search of increased first team opportunities. Manager Rob Mallaband has agreed to waive the seven-day notice period to allow Fisher to appear for Town on Tuesday night.
Rob Clarke commented: “Jamie has worked exceptionally hard over the last six months to regain his fitness, following a lengthy absence with the ankle injury he picked up last pre season. Having got himself fit, he obviously needs to be playing games. With his first-team opportunities proving limited, he has opted for a move that should help him get more football. It’s obvious he’s a Boldmere lad at heart, so it will be a big wrench for him to leave. He has gone about it in the right manner and left on good terms, and we all wish him all the best at Shifnal”.
